“Alchemy is a series of 20 quilts that combine my photography and quilting. The challenge was to create a cohesive series using a range of subjects, colors, and quilting techniques. Each quilt uses a layout inspired by a graphic print. The image in the quilt is printed on cotton or silk by Spoonflower. Below the image is a different design technique that uses an element from the image. Fabrics were selected coordinated with the image. At the top, strips from the quilt were woven together.”
