Medium: Acrylic abstract paintings
As an artist in a world where humans are bombarded with information and technology, I feel compelled to create works of art that embraces simplicity. Inspired by the elements of our ordinary lives, and the places these items fit in modern culture, I break them down on canvas as minimalist and abstract representations of their discriminating parts, defining them atypically via reflective visuals.

The Cary Photographic Artists (CPA) formed in January 2007 as Cary’s only organization dedicated to photography as ne art. CPA is dedicated to expanding and enhancing knowledge, skill, appreciation, and sharing of both the artistry and the craftsmanship of photography.

Jen Blakeslee’s process is to explore mixed media materials (primarily ceramics) to tell stories that are both ancient and familiar. Currently she uses the ancient art practices of Ceramics, Terra Sigillata and Encaustic Painting. Jen draws on natural elements and texture to document timeless narratives. She investigates humanity’s relationship with nature, material culture and belief. She utilizes ancient techniques to create Contemporary Art.
